Curriculum Vitae
Carlotta Raviola (born in 1988) studied chemistry at the University of Pavia, where she graduated in 2011. She received her PhD degree from the same University in January 2015 (Prof. A. Albini as the supervisor) and spent part of this period at the Technische Universität München (Germany) in the group of Prof. T. Bach. She is currently a post-doc at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Pavia. Her research interests focus on the photoinduced or photocatalytic generation of highly reactive species (aryl cations, (bi)radical intermediates) for synthethic applications. Experimental work is supported by theoretical activity through the use of high performance computing facilities (HPC-CINECA) accessed by projects awarded by ISCRA, where CR has been involved in the role of collaborator.
The results of her research have been presented to national and international meetings. (13 participations in national/international congresses, with 5 oral communications as the presenting author). Since 2009, her scientific work has been accompanied by the support to teaching activities through assistance in laboratory courses and lectures (for Degrees in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences and Geology). Since 2015, CR has been in charge of the course "Advanced Organic Chemistry" within post-diploma courses "Higher level technician for industrial biotechnological productions" and "Higher level for industrial chemical productions" at Fondazione Istituto Tecnico Superiore per le Nuove Tecnologie. Since 2017, she has also been the Bachelor thesis co-supervisor of four students for their degree in Chemistry. In March 2018, Carlotta Raviola was appointed expert on the subject at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Pavia for all the teachings of the SSD CHIM/06 - Organic Chemistry. Carlotta Raviola is a reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals.
