The Interdepartment Multimedia Centre for the Research on Ancient Drama (CRIMTA) was found in 2000 at the University of Pavia, through the cooperation of the Department of Classics and the Department of Informatics.
Its multimedia database collecs sources (video, photos, magazines, monographs) on the modern performances of classical theatre, as well as on the several aspects of literary and historical studies on ancient drama. It is intended to bridge a common gap between academic research and theatrical practice, by providing a valuable contribution not only to people working in the area (both research and theatrical practice), but also to teaching staff and students who deal with the field of ancient drama and its contemporary reception.

CRIMTA’s research activities areorganized by the Workshop on Ancient Drama, which every year hosts seminars and meetings either on specific texts or on general topics concerning ancient drama.
