  • "Design and Fabrication of Tissue in vitro Model
    mimicking the 3D Complexity of a natural Tissue"

Short biography - Giovanni Vozzi was graduated in Electronic Engineering at University of Pisa and he got the PhD in Bioengineering at Politecnico of Milan. Actually he is Associate Professor in Bioengineering at University of Pisa. His research interests are: development of Biofabrication systems and of bioreactors; mechanical, chemical and cell characterization of new biomaterials; development of in silico cell models. He is Founding Member and member of Directors Board of International Society of Biofabrication. He has published more than 100 papers in international journals, 13 books chapters and he has developed 22 patents whose 6 are international.

  • Dott. Giovanni Biglino, Bristol Heart Institute

  • "3D Printing in Congenital Heart Disease:
    Assessing the Potential for clinical Translation"

Short biography - Giovanni Biglino is a biomedical engineer. He studied at Imperial College London and obtained his PhD in cardiovascular mechanics from the Brunel Institute of Bioengineering. He has carried out research at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children/University College London with the cardiac engineering team, focusing on congenital heart disease. He studied biostatistics at Harvard Medical School and has started to enthusiastically explore the world of narrative medicine at Columbia University. Now he is Senior Lecturer in Biostatistics at the Bristol Heart Institute. His current research is very collaborative, involving cardiologists, surgeons, imagers, psychologists and artists. His interest in 3D printing includes both clinical, communication and creative applications.

Short biography - Pietro Canzi is Research assistant professor in Otorhinolaryngology. He graduated at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pavia and specialised in ENT surgery. During this time he developed a special interest in otoneurosurgery and innovative technologies, coupling with clinical research, trials and scientific writing.
